“Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith
Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke
of bondage.”
Galations 5:1
King James Bible
We celebrate our country’s independence, which was won for
us at a great price. Our brave men and women fought for us against
our enemies to allow us to live in freedom. Even greater than their
sacrifice was the price that Jesus paid for our Freedom in Him.
One day, Jesus allowed us to spit in His Face, curse Him, mock Him,
pluck out His beard, and strike Him so that we can have Eternal
Freedom. I used to think that the people who did that to Him were
cruel and terrible.
However, as I was thinking about this many years
ago, I realized that I was just as guilty as if I had been one of
the people to do that to Jesus.
Every time that we treat other people in a cruel manner and say
harsh and critical words to someone, we are doing it to Jesus and
breaking His Heart once again. May God forgive us! Why do we persist
in hurting Jesus?
One day, I am going to see Jesus and have the privilege to look
in His Eyes. I want to be able to look Him in the Eyes with a clean
heart. When you see Jesus will you be able to look at Him with a
smile, or will you close your eyes and weep?
