Learning to Pray While Fasting

Have you ever tried to serve God and failed? Have you ever asked God to do something but he didn’t answer your prayers?

Now, that you’re getting ready to fast, these questions might even be more real to you than before. Maybe you’re fasting because you have been praying and haven’t got an answer. But whatever your motive, fasting will take prayer, coupled with faith, to a higher level. It will take you nearer to God.

Just because you fast, it doesn’t mean God will automatically hear or answer your prayers. Also, refraining from food will not make you more spiritual. Spirituality is a response of the heart to God when you seek his presence and yield to him. The Holy Spirit will make you more holy when you allow the Lord to flow through your life. The Holy Spirit will make you more spiritual when you are filled with his presence. Remember, as you fast, the most important thing is that you seek and touch God, and let him touch you.
