Day 35
Read: Matthew 22:15—22
The Kingdom of God never forces you to pay your
“Kingdom tax”...
God sends you no bill.
God sends no angel to extract it from you.
You can ignore your “tax” to God’s
Kingdom if you want to.
But one day the
King will appear and He will say
to you:
“You have rendered unto Caesar the things
that are Caesar’s---you paid your taxes
to Uncle Sam---but what about the things
that are mine?
Why haven’t you paid your taxes to my
Kingdom?”
If you have nothing to answer, you
will
be banished from His sight.
Your “Kingdom
tax”---
the one thing above everything
else which you
must render to God, if you would
abide as a citizen
of His everlasting Kingdom
is Mercy.
Mercy toward your fellow man.
As a citizen
of the Kingdom of God,
you owe to every man the same mercy God
has shown toward you on Calvary’s Cross.
In
His “Mercy Book” God keeps strict
accounts.
If you owe Him any “back taxes” you’d
be wise to pay up today. Tomorrow
may be too late.
